Coding Languages and Children's Creativity: Unlocking Potential

Image
Introducing coding languages to children not only equips them with essential technical skills but also significantly enhances their creativity. By engaging in programming, kids learn to think critically, solve problems, and express themselves innovatively. In Bangladesh, it's like Buzzword, but it's mostly in urban areas and mainly caters to elites. The reality is that most children live in rural areas. Opportunities for coding education are far fewer in rural areas, and even more so compared to the capital city. My goal is to expand these opportunities to rural areas through various platforms and partners. Numbers of coding learners The global online coding for kids market was valued at approximately USD 4.19 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach around USD 22.30 billion by 2033, indicating a significant rise in children learning coding worldwide. In Bangladesh, while specific data on the number of children learning coding is limited, the country has a substantia...

Iqbal Masih: A Beacon in the Fight Against Child Labor and His Lasting Impact on Society

Image
Early Life and Bonded Labor Iqbal Masih was born on January 1, 1983, in Muridke, a small village near Lahore, Pakistan. He was born into a poor Christian family, where survival was a daily struggle. His father, Saif Masih, was a laborer, while his mother, Inayat Bibi, worked as a house cleaner. Unfortunately, his father abandoned the family soon after Iqbal was born, leaving his mother and older siblings to take care of the household. Like many impoverished families in Pakistan, Iqbal's family fell into the trap of bonded labor, a form of modern-day slavery. When Iqbal was just four years old, his father took a loan of 600 rupees (approximately $12 at the time) from a local carpet factory owner to pay for his eldest son’s wedding. In return, Iqbal was forced into bonded labor at the carpet factory, where he had to work long hours to "repay" the debt. The system of peshgi (advance payment) ensured that children like Iqbal remained enslaved indefinitely. Despite work...

AI: How It Impacted My Life!

Image
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to my life, even though I had little knowledge about it. I have established the 90/10 rule in my daily practice, where AI, especially ChatGPT, supports me in various tasks. While I currently use the free version, I plan to upgrade to the premium version soon. My journey with AI has been transformative, improving my efficiency and learning capabilities. AI in My Work A few weeks ago, I was assigned to write a 65-page report on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) localization. The challenge, I had only 12 days and very little information while managing multiple tasks. A professional writer of such reports mentioned that it would take at least 30 days. I decided to push my AI skills to the limit and took on the challenge to make the draft report. With extra hours of effort and ChatGPT assisting me 60-80% of the time, I completed the report in just 10 days. AI proved to be an invaluable asset in my work. AI in My Learning ...

Learning Coding Remotely: Impacting Lives

Image
In early 2025, girls from some of the most remote areas of Bangladesh gained an unprecedented opportunity to learn coding through the ‘Coding for Kids’ program. This initiative, funded by the Bangladeshi NGO Friendship and supported technically by Dreamers Academy, is equipping young learners with digital skills that could change their futures. The Dhaka Tribune published a report on March 18, 2025 ( https://www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh/development/376083/breaking-barriers-girls-from-bangladesh%E2%80%99s-remote ). As a proud supporter of this initiative, I am honored to have played a role in encouraging Friendship and Dreamers Academy to launch this program. In this blog post, I am sharing some insights along with the report.  In 19 districts of Bangladesh, there are isolated char islands where educational resources are scarce, and awareness levels are low. This coding initiative is breaking barriers by providing children—both boys and girls, aged 7-16—with access to essential ...

Learning from Society and Its Impact

Image
A Story of Arrogance and Humility I came across the following story on social media, and it is widely available for everyone to read. A wealthy young woman was seated next to a poor elderly man on a plane. As soon as she took her seat, she called the flight attendant. When the attendant arrived, the woman abruptly said, "Find me another seat immediately." The attendant replied politely, "I'm sorry, ma’am, but the economy cabin is fully booked." The rich woman, now agitated, said, "I refuse to travel next to a poor beggar. Do something!" The elderly man looked on in surprise. The attendant, maintaining her composure, said, "Let me check with the captain." She went to the cockpit and explained, "Sir, a lady is uncomfortable sitting next to a poor old man. What should we do?" A smile appeared on the captain’s face. He said, "This is interesting! I've never encountered such a situation before. I have an idea......
