Coding Education – Empowering and Impacting Underprivileged Kids

Coding education is an empowering initiative in Bangladesh that is making a significant impact, particularly for underprivileged kids. Coding is not a new concept—many organizations worldwide discuss and work on it. However, very few focus on coding for marginalized communities. One of Dreamers Academy’s (https://dreamersacademy.com.bd) core missions is to support marginalized communities.

I am involved in this initiative with great interest because I recognize the gap—very few organizations address this need despite its huge demand. The key is to create opportunities, and that is exactly what I am striving to do.

Bridging the Digital Divide – Connecting the Dots

In today’s fast-paced digital world, coding is no longer just a skill; it is a necessity. However, access to quality coding education remains a privilege for many. Dreamers Academy is on a mission to change that by providing underprivileged children in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, with free coding education. This initiative is not just about teaching programming but about breaking the cycle of poverty and opening doors to limitless opportunities.

Why Coding for Underprivileged Kids?

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, particularly coding, plays a crucial role in shaping future career opportunities. Learning to code enhances problem-solving skills, fosters creativity, and improves digital literacy. Research shows that children who learn to code at an early age have a 40% increased earning potential and are four times more likely to pursue STEM careers. By providing coding education to children in need, we are not just teaching them a skill but equipping them for a better future.

The Impact of Your Support

Through this program, the dreamer’s academy is currently transforming the lives of 100 orphans at the Umme Salma Islamia Girls Dakhil Madrasa in Cox’s Bazar. With access to computer-based learning, live online classes, and internationally recognized curricula, these children now have a chance to dream big.

Any sponsorship can enhance their problem-solving skills, encourage creativity, provide digital literacy, and create pathways to financial independence. By investing in this program, The sponsorship is ensuring these children gain the confidence and expertise to break free from the cycle of poverty and embrace promising career opportunities in the digital world.

What They Learn to Create Impact

The program has been designed for children aged 7-16 and follows a structured learning path. Junior programmers aged 7-10 learn Scratch, Web Development, AI, and Mobile Development, while programmers aged 11-16 are introduced to Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AI, Robotics, and IoT.

By the end of the program, students will have acquired skills in website and mobile app development, artificial intelligence, and game creation—making them ready to compete in the global digital economy.

Corporates involvement to create SDG impact

I had the opportunity to negotiate with corporate entities to participate in a coding program. The goal was to engage them in educational impact, particularly for marginalized communities, where corporate involvement and funding are usually minimal. Convincing them to align with the SDGs was challenging. Initially, one international NGO got involved, creating a small impact. However, step by step, one corporate partner joined, and now more are showing interest.

Stories of Transformation

The impact of coding education is best reflected through the lives it transforms. One such inspiring example is Asma-Ul-Husna, an orphan who was once uncertain about her future but now dreams of financial independence through freelancing. Coding has given her the confidence to shape her own destiny.

Another story is that of Ismail, a young boy from a struggling family who found hope in coding. Today, he creates calculators and video games, envisioning a stable career in tech. These stories highlight how access to education and technology can uplift marginalized communities and create real change.

Conclusion: The Future Begins Here

Dreamers Academy believes in the power of education to transform lives. By sponsoring coding education for underprivileged children, you are investing in a future where technology is an equalizer, not a privilege. Let’s work together to create a world where every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to dream, learn, and succeed.

Coding education for underprivileged children is a powerful tool to bridge the digital divide and create lasting social impact. By focusing on marginalized communities, STEM education, and junior coder achievements, we can ensure that children gain the skills they need for a brighter future. Sponsor a child today and be a part of their journey toward a digitally empowered future.
